Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in his car on 29 May 2022 in Jawaharke village of Mansa district, by unidentified assailants. He was traveling with two other men. 30 rounds were fired during the incident which also injured two other men.
He was brought dead to the Civil Hospital in Mansa. Reportedly, this murder was committed under the direction of a Canadian gangster of Punjabi origin, identified as Satinder Singh alias Goldy Brar, who is a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi. Brar reportedly claimed that his “Punjab Module” carried out the shooting. Brar and Bishnoi both have criminal cases against them in India.
The state government had reduced or entirely removed the police security cover of 424 people on the previous day for security deployment elsewhere in preparation for the anniversary of Operation Bluestar.
Sidhu was among the 424 people whose security was reduced. The number of policemen commandos involved in his security was reduced to two. At the time of the incident Sidhu did not take the two police commandos with him, nor did he take the bullet-proof vehicle provided to him by the state government. He was travelling in his private car. His private security guards were accompanying him.
